UNC DR3 Workshop 2: Vulnerability, Disasters, and Metrics

DESCRIPTION: The UNC DR3 (Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience) Workshop: Vulnerability, Disasters, and Metrics is a virtual 2-hour workshop as part of the research study Re-Energize DR3. Re-Energize DR3 is a multi-university stakeholder engagement project regarding natural disaster risk management, preparedness, recovery, and mitigation. The research team for this project is based out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, led by Felix Dodds at the Water Institute, and is the US-component of the Belmont Forum-funded Re-Energize DR3 consortium (https://www.govdisasters.com/). The UNC team is focusing on the federal, state and local governance levels in United States, with North Carolina as a case study.

The workshop will focus on:
(1) identifying, characterizing, and classifying vulnerable groups, and
(2) disaster/emergency management indicators/metrics for flooding and drought.

COMPENSATION: As an expression of our appreciation for your time, participants will be compensated with a $20 digital gift card following the workshop, unless you choose to decline.

No identifiable information nor recordings will be shared beyond the research team. We will distribute and request you to sign an IRB consent form by email.
