72nd Annual New Year School and Conference
Theme: Building Ghana in the face of Global Health Crisis
Introduction
The Annual New Year School and Conference is organised by the School of Continuing and Distance Education, University of Ghana, Legon as its flagship outreach programme to provide 7ththe platform or a forum to deliberate on issues of national interest. The 72nd edition is themed “Building Ghana in the face of Global Health Crises.” This call for papers invites academics, administrators, politicians, technocrats, social workers, and other stakeholders to send research abstracts and case studies for consideration. Below are important information and dates to note as you prepare to submit your abstract and full papers for consideration
Deadline for abstract submission: 30th November 2020
Deadline for sending out acceptance letters to successful abstract submissions: 7th December 2020
Deadline for full paper submission: 7th January 2021
Date for Conference: Tuesday 19 –Thursday 21 January 2021.
Venue: University of Ghana, Legon – Accra.
Sub-themes: sub-themes and topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:
- Strong public health promotion infrastructure to deliver appropriate promotional and preventive health care services during pandemics
- Global health crisis and the delivery of public services in Ghana
- Resilient self-sufficient economy to withstand global health crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic
- ICTs for sustaining the provision of inclusive, equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all
- Sustainable food production systems and resilient agricultural practices
- Global health crisis and the youth
The theme interdisciplinary in nature and broad enough to cover a range of disciplinary areas such as public service, agriculture, health, education, trade and industry, and political institutions, etc. Prospective presenters are encouraged to provide theoretical discourses or empirical findings or case studies that fall within the remit of the theme.
Note that because participants of the ANYS &C are predominantly practitioners, presentations have to be as practical as possible.
