Pekarcik is a current undergraduate student and researcher at the Pennsylvania State University. In December 2019 she will be completing her Bachelor of Science in Community, Environment and Development with a focus on International Development coupled with minors in International Agriculture and Sustainability Leadership. She is assisting in WEF nexus application and website management under the supervision of Michael Jacobson.
