Sharon A. Omotoso was formerly Acting Head of Department, Politics & International Relations, Lead City University, Ibadan, she is currently with the Gender Studies Program at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her commitment to gender research, scholarship and policy-making projects recently earned her the headship of Women’s Research and Documentation Centre (WORDOC), a centre which has existed since 1987. Dr Sharon is a Senior Research Fellow Institut Français de Recherche en Afrique (IFRA), Research Fellow (Gender/Women Issues) of the Ibadan School of Government and Public Policy (ISGPP), a Chartered Mediator & Conciliator, who has served on the Post Gender Policy Audit Committee of the University of Ibadan and a third term Committee member of University of Ibadan Research and Development Fair. She speaks at academic events on Applied Ethics, Media & Gender studies, Political Communications, Philosophy of Education, Socio-Political Philosophy, and African Philosophy where she has published significantly. She has won travel grants to: Brazil, 2009; South Africa, 2015-2018; Australia, 2017, Germany, 2017 and Canada, 2018. Dr. Sharon has lectured on the topics of Philosophies of Feminism, Feminist Political Communication, African Feminist Ethics, Women and Peacebuilding in Africa. She also features on radio and TV public enlightenment programs across Nigeria.
