Dr. Goosen completed his undergraduate (B.Eng. Chemical Engineering, 2005) and postgraduate training (MSc. Eng. Chemical Engineering, 2007; PhD, 2014) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, where he is also employed in the capacity as Lecturer/Researcher at the Department of Process Engineering since 2013. During 2008 and 2009 he spent time in the UK, where he worked at an aquaculture production facility and as a Chemical Engineering consultant. His current research is focused on 2 areas: 1) developing Chemical Engineering processes that add value to biological raw materials (including food and agricultural by-products), and 2) improving the efficiency of integrated aquaculture systems.
