Nsikak-Abasi Aniefiok Etim obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric.)(First Class Honours) degree and was the best graduating student from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Uyo, Nigeria. He earned a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also earned a Doctorate in Resource and Environmental Economics from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture. Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria.
He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and has 20 years of teaching, research mentoring, and judging experience within and outside the university. His areas of research are development, resource, and environmental economics with a focus on efficiency, climate change, food and poverty issues in the contexts of production and environment. Dr. Etim has distinguished himself as an erudite scholar and a prolific writer. He has published over ninety (90) peer-reviewed scientific articles in reputable and leading national and international journals. He is a widely traveled scholar, whose researches have won several awards, scholarships, and grants from many international organizations including the Carnegie Corporation of New York; European Commission; Agriculture For Food Security(AgriFose) 2030; Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO); Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency ( SIDA).
