Rachel Brennan, Ph.D., P.E. is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at Penn State, holds a Courtesy Appointment in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, chairs the Sustainability Council for the College of Engineering, and leads a transdisciplinary University Strategic Initiative for addressing global Food-Energy-Water Nexus challenges. Although classically trained in bioremediation, her current research program focuses on ecological wastewater treatment and the beneficial reuse of recovered nutrients for the production of sustainable fertilizers, fodder, and biofuels.
