Fadi got his agribusiness management degree in 2007 and started his MSc in Agrofood Marketing in 2009 in CIHEAM-IAMZ. The thesis focus consumers’ attitudes towards labelling food products with food miles in Zaragoza-Spain. In 2010, Started his PhD (international mention) on economics and the thesis was volatility price transmission between food and energy markets in Europe taking into account asymmetric behavior as well as external shocks. 

After defending his PhD-thesis in 2014, Fadi acted as Assistant Professor of agricultural economics at the Faculty of Agriculture – Cairo University 2015-2020, and Associate Professor 2020 to present. During the period September 2015 through August 2020, was a member of students’ affair committee and quality management committee at the faculty and department levels, respectively. 

Fadi’s research focus lies within the field agricultural value chain analysis, with a special emphasis on price volatility transmission of Food-Energy markets and production efficiency. Recently, Fadi completed a two-year project called “Improving the fresh produce supply chain network in Egypt” financed by the American University in Cairo (AUC). Presently, Fadi is working with a new four-year project, financed by PRIMA titled "Sustainable Innovation and Governance in the Mediterranean Area for the WEF Nexus" and to establish a regional network to identify sustainable diversified innovations that improve Nexus interlinkages as well as food security and environmental resilience at the local, regional and national levels.
