Dr Pius Siakwah is a Research Fellow at the Institute of African Studies (IAS), University of Ghana, Legon. He has research and teaching programs that promote natural resources management, energy geographies, governance and sustainable development. With regards to teaching, courses include research methods, natural resources and governance, globalization and development, and the political economy of development. Pius is a resource and development geographer with research interests in natural resources and energy geographies, assemblages and network geographies, political economy, climate-agriculture and livelihoods. Current research engaged in included: political economy of large dams; domestic implication of peace-keeping in mining communities in Ghana, and climate and livelihoods in Northern Ghana. After obtaining that PhD at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Pius did a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Pius had an MA in Geography from Brock University, ON, Canada. He is finding research sites in Africa and beyond on issues concerning natural resource governance, energy geographies (non-renewable energy and potential transition to renewable and livelihoods), climate change, and water-energy-food nexus.
