Desalination for the Environment: Clean Water and Energy Conference
June 7 - June 11
The International Conference on desalination organized by the European Desalination Society (EDS) is to be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 7th to 11th June 2020 at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.
The conference that will take place in Gran Canaria will be entitled “Desalination for the Environment: Clean Water and Energy”, and will be dedicated to advances in the universal supply of drinking water at an affordable economic and energy cost.
This event takes place every two years and manages to gather hundreds of researchers, policy makers, managers, engineers and plant operators, consultants, industrial sector, university teachers, etc. in all its editions. DESAL+ LIVING LAB Platform has been the promoter of bringing this high-level technical and business event to the Canary Islands, thanks to the support of the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI).
This conference on desalination for the environment will be devoted to advances towards providing fresh water for all, at affordable cost and at economical energy requirements. With limited and depleting natural sources, desalination can supplement some of the critically lacking amounts of water needed for sustainable development. The conference will overview the most recent developments in desalination technology, its cost and extent of application, including socio-economic and environmental issues. Why and how desalination should be integrated into the national or regional water management plans, ensuring socio- economic and environmental benefits, will be the focal point of the conference
